Watch-out for these designer bags!

Handbags to pick and prick

Handbags are that one essential accessory in our wardrobe that needs to be carried with all outside looks. If you are going out, you need to carry a handbag. Just not any handbag but also the one that compliments and personifies your look. Handbags can be tricky as they come in various sizes, colors, and designs. But at times it so happens that, we just do not know what does and what does not. But one way to make your look trendy in fall 2019 is by seeing what is in and what is out. Designer handbags cost a handful, so it is better to not fall for something that is outmoded or soon going to be outmoded. So let's see what is in and out in the pockets.

After yesterday's evening dedicated to handbags, Lakme Fashion Week 2019 has given red and green signals to a lot of designer bags. From what I personally took as hints are what I share with you in this blog. If there is a particular bag that you really like, then stick to it, because fashion is not about seasons, it's about you! So, to begin with is the long loved and long-lived bag- The Gucci Marmont that ranges between 1.5 lakhs to 2 lakhs. I personally love this bag and own the one in peach, but I really think its a FAD that is now fading out. It was a popular choice for quite a few years, but I personally think that this particular Gucci collection has lived its full life. I also saw a few seasonal variations of this bag on a discount. Like the velvets have started to get discounted at third party retailers. Being pushed a few shelves back is always a bad sign, so I would just say that proceed with caution with this bag. It may sustain for a couple more years, but maybe just wait and see how the ramp turns on this bag this season and then pull the trigger.  Next is the Fendi Monogram bag or bags with logos in general. Handbags with the whole central design as the brand logo are soon going to be obsolete. I personally love such bags, but in this Fashion Week, I hardly saw any of the new bags with a huge logo on it. That is the reason I believe that this is going to be out soon. Monograms are classy, but the overwhelming amount of logos and monograms on everything is a trend that is going to be quite short-lived. Anyhow, this is such a trend that often ebbs and flows. So I would not suggest you donate it out, but maybe move it down in your closet and wait for fashion to repeat itself.

Now let's see what kinds of bags you can buy to fill in for the ones you remove from your closet space. I must say, that I have fallen for the wicker bags. I love them. This design is definitely a hit stay, plus it's the hot topic of this season. It is such a classic style and Duchess Meghan Markle has made us fall in love with it. Wicker bags have been around for decades, but for the past few seasons it has picked up the heat when few celebs were spotted with it, as many major brands have launched a line of this design. The great thing about this bag is that you do not have to spend bullocks on this. You can literally find this at every single price range. I too have a few. I recently bought the Prada one which is at the higher end. I also have a Ulla Johnson one which is at the mid-price range. I love them both! This is a trend that is going to stay for quite a few years just like a summer sandal.  This is quite a quintessential and seasonal style that comes back year after year, so grab one now! The other handbag that is catching the breeze is the Diorama bags by Dior. I must say that  I am quite fond of this collection because it is very practical. This is great as handbags are supposed to be very practical, but yet we do come across many that do not have enough space to even fit in our phones. I also like this line very much because it has very subtle and chic looking bags, which is great because that is a style that never dies. So if you are thinking over buying a Diorama, then don’t sweat it and just get it.

All in all, I think the trends this Fall have swept away a lot of trends and have come back with the classics. The fashion phase for the quirky and experimental bags have ended and the market is leaning back to the classics. So just beware of out fashioned furs and look out for the simpler bags for your look. But again, it is you who decides what is out fashioned for you and what is not. So if you really like a few things that you think are fading out, you can still choose to stick with it and stand out. You can still choose to sparkle when glitter is deemed goody.

Jayaraman and Kamal Murari  The effect of deforestation can be repaired slowly. Fossil Fuel emissions cannot be put back into where it came from.   The upsurge of global environmental anxiety over the recent spate of forest fires in the Amazon, apparently marking a renewed push to deforestation, is clearly testimony to the heightened awareness of the danger to human security represented by global warming. The provocatively anti-environmental and climate denial views of Brazil’s President, Jair Bolsonaro, and his colleagues, the reining in of environmental controls if not disabling them, the President’s initial air of unconcern, and his absurd counter-allegations regarding the causes, have all contributed to exacerbating this anxiety. Predictably, this has d...
